Vexve, now a member of ukDEA
Vexve Oy has been accepted as a member of the UK District Energy Association (ukDEA).
The association brings together the UK district heating and cooling project participants and acts as a direct link to the government. ukDEA wants to support the activities of district heating and cooling in the UK, promote best practices and reduce UK greenhouse gas emissions.
Currently in the United Kingdom, district heating accounts for 2% of the total heat requirement. A commissioned by the Department of Energy & Climate Change showed that heat networks have the technical potential to supply as much as 43% of heat demand for buildings by 2050. In November 2015 the announced funding of 320 million pounds (approx. 377 million €) for district heating network projects.
