Ball valves for FSRU in Alexandropolis

Four pieces of ball valves NPS 30” Class 900 were designed for the first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) LNG terminal in Alexandropolis, Greece and used in an onshore valve station of this facility.

New destinations mean new customers, but also new requirements

At the beginning of this year, we had the pleasure of receiving an order of four 30” class 900 ball valves from Greece. That sounds quite ordinary until you check the details and requirements, as well as the name of this project. These ball valves were designed for the first Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) LNG terminal in Alexandroupolis, Greece 🇬🇷 and used in an onshore valve station of this facility.

Whole FSRU project was demanding and challenging from all aspects – from materials, hundreds of specification pages, documentation scope and preciseness to the most challenging part of the technical requirements - Corrosion Resistance Weld Overlay (CRA) on all dynamic and static seal areas and RF groove on the main flanges.

We are proud to be involved in such an important project and we’re looking forward to other challenging projects that await us in the future!
