Kotkan Energia started the renovation of the district heating lines next to the Kymenlaakso Central Hospital and the Hovinsaari Power Plant in 2017.

Vexve ball and butterfly valves were selected for the project as well as hydraulic controls. Important for Kotkan Energia was the ability to control the valves quickly and easily in the event of a network malfunction both locally and remotely above ground. The choice of the hydraulic control unit was also influenced by the fact that the district heating line near the power plant is at sea level, which is why the actuators had to be moisture resistant.

Hydraulic actuators and remote control cabinets were installed together with the Vexve valves in the spring and summer of 2017. Vexve specialists were also on site to assist in installation and ensure the success of commissioning.
