Riikinvoima’s eco-power plant and Varkauden Aluelämpö built the district heating pumping station as a joint project. The pumping station can provide 180 GWh of district heat per year from the Riikinvoima DN 400 transmission line to the Varkauden Aluelämpö district heating network.

Elomatic, responsible for the overall design and project planning, was already in contact with Vexve at the beginning of the project. In particular, Vexve's expertise was needed at the acquisition and design stage for actuators. Vexve supplied all of the pumping station’s actuator and manually operated shut-off and control valves to the project.
